Today our sixth graders at St. Joseph’s took a virtual visit and were able to “meet” a priest in India. The students sang “Who says you can’t be a Saint” by the Bosco Boys. Father Allesando had a newly ordained priest from India on the phone who could see them and answered questions and enjoyed the song! Check out the video!
The fifth graders were treated to a presentation about wild birds in conjunction with their studies in science class. A representative from the Tenafly Nature Center brought a Red Tail Hawk and a Bard Owl for the children to see. These two birds were injured early in life and cannot live in the wild, so they are part of this educational exhibit.
On Monday, February 27th, The Creative Writing Club had a special Reading Showcase at Passage in Astoria, Queens. The Showcase featured past and present members of The Creative Writing Club from St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy. Alumni, current students, Mentors, and even parents came up to read their original work. Thank you to all that participated and we look forward to giving this opportunity to all of our schools!
